Featured Project: UF-681 Flavet Outdoor Recreation Complex
The Flavet Outdoor Recreation Complex project is located directly east of Flavet Field and is transforming former tennis courts and a parking lot into a modern multi-use outdoor recreation facility designed around the preservation of existing heritage trees that will support both active and passive uses. Through an extensive collaborative campus stakeholder planning and design process, the project consists of 6 tennis courts, 6 pickleball courts, 2 sand volleyball courts, ADA accessible pathways, artificial grass lawn area for flexible activities and events, covered pavilion, renovation of a bathroom facility, water fountains, outdoor furniture, electronical charging stations, hammock posts, bicycle/electric scooter parking, waste/recycling receptacles, decorative lighting, wayfinding signage, Bandshell operations upgrades, low impact development facilities to treat and convey stormwater, Florida-Friendly landscaping, Wi-Fi coverage, security cameras and blue light phones. The facility is scheduled to open early Spring of 2026 and is pursuing SITES Gold sustainability certification.”
