The Office of the University Architect guides the planning, design, and development of the University of Florida’s physical campus. Through design oversight, standards management, and collaboration with campus partners, the office helps ensure that projects support the university’s mission while preserving the character, quality, and long-term vision of the campus environment.
Biography
As University Architect, Cydney McGlothlin provides leadership and stewardship for the planning, design, and development of the University of Florida’s physical environment. She works collaboratively with campus partners to ensure projects support the university’s mission while enhancing the character, functionality, and long-term vision of the campus.
Prior to joining UF, Cydney practiced architecture in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and Denver, Colorado. During more than twenty years with the university, she has helped shape some of UF’s most recognizable projects, including the Wertheim Laboratory for Engineering Excellence, the Reitz Union Expansion and Renovation, and the Harn Museum’s Asian Art Wing. She especially appreciates the pedestrian scale of UF’s historic campus, the energy of the Reitz Union, and the opportunity to reconnect with nature throughout campus.
Her collaborative approach is influenced by the philosophy of Ubuntu: “I am because we are.“
Biography
Jamie Lindsey, AIA, serves as Architect and Selections Coordinator within the Office of the University Architect. In this role, she supports design quality, material selections, and architectural standards that help shape the character and identity of the University of Florida campus.
Prior to joining Planning, Design & Construction, Jamie practiced architecture in New York City and Portland, Oregon, before returning to Gainesville to teach in UF’s School of Architecture. Her professional and academic experiences provide a strong foundation for helping guide thoughtful, enduring design decisions across campus.
One of the things she values most about Gainesville is its strong sense of community and the people who make it unique.

Biography
Sustainability has been the focus of Dustin Stephany’s career for more than fifteen years. As Sustainable Building Coordinator for the Office of the University Architect, he helps guide sustainable design, construction, and operational practices across the University of Florida campus.
Prior to joining UF, Dustin worked as an engineer and construction manager in the Chicago and Milwaukee markets. His credentials include LEED AP O+M, WELL AP, Green Globes Professional, Certified Energy Manager, and an MBA.
Throughout his time at UF, he has contributed to numerous high-performance projects, including LEED Platinum-certified facilities such as Malachowsky Hall, the Student Health Care Center, the Bee Unit, and the Florida Museum of Natural History Special Collections Building.
He is inspired by the belief that meaningful change is possible and often reflects on Jacque Fresco’s quote: “If you think we can’t change the world, it just means you are not one of those that will.“

A lifelong Gator and graduate of the University of Florida’s College of Design, Construction and Planning, Amanda brings a passion for creating meaningful interior environments to her role as Interior Designer within the Office of the University Architect.
Amanda began her UF career with the university’s Space and GIS Team, where she developed expertise in space planning and campus operations. In 2025, she joined Planning, Design & Construction to focus on interior design and space experience initiatives. Her work is driven by a desire to create functional, welcoming environments that positively impact the campus community. Notable projects include the UF Miami Citigroup Tower and UF Jacksonville Bay Street initiatives.

Biography
Daphney joined the Office of the University Architect in March 2026 as Design Support Administrator. With a background as a publishing designer for a construction education and research organization, she brings a unique blend of creativity, communication, and organizational support to the team. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication and Journalism from Loyola University New Orleans.
Outside of work, Daphney enjoys traveling, spending time with loved ones, photography, creative projects, researching new topics, and continuously learning something new.
